Resident Wish List
Tender Mercies' Board of Trustees is made up of community representatives. The Board's responsibilities include:
- Establishing policy;
- Hiring and evaluating the Chief Executive Officer;
- Securing adequate funding for the organization;
- Monitoring finances
- Selecting and supporting the organization's board officers and periodically reviewing their performance; and
- Adopting key operating policies, procedures, and contracts where appropriate.
So that the Board may concentrate on broad policy-making issues, various committees exist to free the full board from having to deal with specialized or complex issues. Board members may elect to participate on one of the following committees:
- Executive Committee: acts in the name of the full board when it is not in session or deals with emergencies that require immediate attention.
- Ethics Committee: formulates policy around resident's rights, HUD regulations, Minimum standards, Hamilton County Community Mental Health Board Conflict of Interest Policy, and Tender Mercies Basic Ethical Guildlines.
- Governance Committee: is responsible for the ongoing recommendations to enhance the quality and viability of the Board. The Board President appoints the Committee.
- Human Resources Committee: supports the agency by providing expertise, guidance, and recommendations regarding employee relations and personnel policy.
- Development Committee: leads fundraising efforts needed to carry out the mission of the organization.
-
Finance Committee: ensures the organization's financial stability by overseeing budget and investments.
-
Public Relations Committee: assists in maintaining a positive image for the organization in the community by planning for and monitoring public relations in addition to aiding in the development of written materials.
-
Building and Grounds Committee: oversees the development of the general maintenance plan for Tender Mercies' facilities and tracks the various elements of the capital improvements projects.
-
Endowment Committee: develops and assists in implementing a plan to raise money for an endowment to secure the future of Tender Mercies.
