Make A Referral
Referrals are accepted from any source. The first step in the process is for the individual seeking housing to meet with an Outreach Worker and complete an application for services. To begin this process, contact Mary Grover, Community Resource Manager in person at 29 West 12th Street OR by calling (513) 639-7042 OR by email at mgrover@tendermerciesinc.org
All individuals seeking housing at Tender Mercies must meet two criteria:
- Be Homeless
- Have a History of Mental Illness

Tender Mercies provides a total of 148 single occupancy rooms at the following locations, with the rent charges indicated:
24-hour staff coverage: Haven Hall, 27 West 12th Street, 13 female, 26 male, 30% of income Dana Hotel, 15 W. 12th Street, coed, 41 total, $215-245/month Harkavy Hall, 24 W. 12th Street, 29 male, 30% of income Transitional Housing, 29 W.12th St., coed, 16 total, 30% of income
Staff support available: Race Street Residence, 1214 Race Street, 12 female $215-225/month New Morning House, 1209 Elm Street, 11 male $205-245/month
Notes:
- There is a $50.00 security deposit for all buildings.
- Dana has 12 Quick Access beds which require prior approval through The Mental Health Access Point.
All of the rooms have basic furnishings including a twin bed and a dresser or wardrobe. All rooms have small refrigerators. Shared bathroom facilities are available on each floor. Shared kitchen and laundry facilties are also available. Although Tender Mercies does not serve 3 meals a day, on most days at least one meal is provided by community volunteers. There are often donated food items available and residents are provided with information about local pantries and soup kitchens. Upon moving in, residents can be provided with some basic assistance (sheets, towels, clothing, hygiene items) if needed.
