Meal Program

Volunteers can help the residents of Tender Mercies rebuild their health and independence by preparing a meal off-site and serving it to the residents in one or more of our buildings. Meals can be served on a regular schedule or one-time. Many residents enjoy their meals family style with other residents and volunteers, which creates a sense of community. Our volunteers look forward to the chance to get to know and connect with the residents which allows for a more rewarding and educational experience.

Create a Fundraiser

You can help raise funds the residents need for items like furniture, toiletries, transportation, job training and more. Hold a bake sale, ask for donations for your birthday, or ask your yoga or other class for donations. You can also create an online fundraiser to help raise funds for a project or program that helps the residents regain their independence.

Help Make a House a Home

The residents of Tender Mercies are always in need of household items and supplies to make their home more welcoming and comfortable. Donating items on our Wish List is much appreciated by the residents as they regain stability and learn the skills needed to regain independence and self-sufficiency.

Resident Activities

Volunteers can also help by bringing an activity to the residents. By participating in fun experiences, the residents can make new friends, learn new skills, and thrive again as they work towards independence. The possibilities are endless – give us an idea and we’ll help you make it possible!

Special Events

Tender Mercies has two main events each year that raise funds for our permanent housing program. Tee Up for Tender Mercies and our Opening Doors Gala have raised over $2 million which help us provide homeless adults with mental illness with a fresh start and safe home to regain mental and physical stability. We also partner with community organizations and businesses to hold a variety of smaller fundraising events.
